My approach is holistic and client-centred. My therapy is always tailored to meet the needs of the client.

I have a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from the Adler Professional School of Psychology.  I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I have over 10 years experience working in private practice.

As a Registered Psychotherapist, I am committed to upholding a strict code of Professional Ethics.  I always ensure a safe and understanding environment that allows clients to explore their areas of difficulty.

My approach is holistic and client-centred. My therapy is always tailored to meet the needs of the client.  My primary approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which looks at addressing and challenging negative thinking that leads to anxiety, depressive feelings and worry.  I also use other modalities including Adlerian, Mindfulness, and Emotionally Focused Therapies.

Psychotherapy is a second career for me.  My undergraduate degree is in Health Studies from the University of Waterloo and I draw on my experience from my previous career experience, in corporate and public health, when I work with clients.  I firmly believe a balanced and healthy lifestyle is a crucial component of mental health.  As an avid runner, I am passionate about promoting regular physical activity as a key component of a balanced lifestyle.  Recent research reports that regular physical exercise can be as effective as medication in addressing anxiety and depressive symptoms.

I have been married for 25 years and am a mother to two young adult sons.
